Cholesterol is a waxy, fatty substance found in your blood. To reduce bad cholesterol and triglycerides, follow a heart-healthy diet.

High cholesterol foods you should avoid

Add in your diet fresh and unprocessed foods, and limit unhealthy fats, salt and added sugar.

Fried food

Fried foods are high in cholesterol and worth avoiding whenever possible because they’re high in calories and may contain trans fats, which can increase heart disease risk.

Fast food

Eating fast food tends to have higher cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, more belly fat, and higher levels of inflammation.

Processed meat

Processed meats, such as sausages, bacon, and hot dogs, are high in cholesterol; higher intake of these foods increased heart disease and certain cancers.

Desserts are high in cholesterol, as well as added sugars, unhealthy fats, and calories which increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and mental decline.
